Dee Ann Wilson, Director
Dee Ann started twirling at the age of two. She won Florida, Georgia, Alabama Regional Solo champion, state champion numerous times, and many other awards. In high school she was a majorette for Eustis High School and in college for the Florida State University Marching Chiefs.
Dee Ann has taught twirling for 50 years in Umatilla, Eustis, Mt. Dora, and Tavares to the Dee’s Dolls and Show Dolls. These twirling groups won many state championships for the National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA) and Drum Majorettes of America (DMA). Numerous students continued on to be college majorettes. She also taught flags, rifles, and dancers at Mt. Dora High, Eustis High, and Umatilla High. Her groups performed in the movie Honky Tonk Freeway, Alexander Good Buddies All Star Revue TV show, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Halftime shows, Tangerine Bowl Halftime shows, Citrus Bowl parades and many local parades and events. Dee Ann was a teacher and judge for NBTA and a judge for Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA). Not only has she taught baton but she also taught high school math for twenty years, middle school math coach for one year, and provided professional development for teachers for eighteen years.
She also directed and taught at Central Florida Baton Camp and All Florida Drill Team Camp along with her mother Deloris Carter. The largest attendance at the camp was approximately 500 girls. Majorettes attended the camp from all over Florida, Georgia, Nassau Bahamas, Paris France, and Alken Belgium.
